Welcome back to the HGATE Newsletter!

With Halloween just around the corner, there's no shortage of events to get you into the spooky spirit this week! From haunted happenings to themed parties, there’s plenty to enjoy if you're in the mood for some frightful fun. But if Halloween isn't quite your thing, don’t worry—why not switch it up with a lively pub quiz or enjoy one of the many live music nights happening around town?

There’s something for everyone to enjoy this week!

The Nelson Inn

The Inn was originally built around 1776, where it began as a private home before becoming a pub in the early 19th century. In its early days, it doubled as a farm, with locals popping in for a drink under a sack-draped door. Despite its landlocked location, the pub's nautical name hails from the excitement of Nelson’s great victory at Trafalgar in 1805—a tribute they proudly continue today.

The Nelson is cozy and welcoming, whether you prefer a seat by the fire, the lively atmosphere of the bar, or a window spot with stunning countryside views.
